Visit of the Mayor, Franc Weerwind- 7 November 2016
We were honoured to welcome the Mayor of Almere, Mr Franc Weerwind to our school on Monday, the 7th of November 2016. The students led the tour of the building and impressed the Mayor with their comments on their personal experiences in the school. The Mayor recognised the alignment of experiences amongst the staff team and students. He reminded us about the history of the city where current residents decided to root themselves moving from all parts of the Nederland and the world. The city of Almere boasts an international composition of 185 nationalities. This mirrors in our school population with 42 nationalities. The parents also got an opportunity to interact with the Mayor and share their experiences and decision to move the city and enrol their children at the school. The school leadership team, the student, staff and parents informed the Mayor of their ambition for the school to be on an international campus with the primary school and asked for support from the city. The Mayor was impressed with what the school has to offer to the city and its added value to society at large.
